Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We are 2 Spanish teachers at RSTAY, about to start a Spanish conversation and culture club at our school and we need your kind support to purchase some important resources to make our sessions fun, engaging and rewarding for our students. We would like to offer snacks which they could share while they watch a short film, or play board games they can use to foster the development of communicative skills and interpersonal communication in both languages (English - Spanish).
We will be meeting weekly at around lunch time, therefore the need for some healthy snacks and drinks such as coffee, which is most of our students' favorite drink.
I would like to offer a different space for students to share and build a sense of community, while motivating them to learn Spanish. The club is open to every student who would like to engage and it is intended to be safe, fun space where students can play Spanish board games, watch short films, among other activities. In sum, they will not only practice the languages, they will exchange culture and connect with other students from different backgrounds.
