This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are incredibly curious, resilient, and eager to connect with the world beyond their own world. What I love most is watching the "lightbulb moment" when a student stops translating word-for-word and starts truly expressing themselves in Spanish. They bring an infectious energy to the classroom, often using their own diverse backgrounds to find common ground with the Spanish-speaking cultures we study. I am asking for a variety of art supplies including a paper cutter, card stock and different kinds of paper, colored pencils as well as educational posters and a cork board.

With the cork board, colored pencils, and other art supplies I plan to have my students create great Spanish focused art work and writing activities that could be displayed in our classroom.

My students aren't just learning a subject; they are becoming global citizens. This donation will allow students to be more prepared and informed to be successful for their Spanish class.
