This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our school is a Spanish-English bilingual school, where we work to raise students with an academic understanding and personal use of both Spanish and English. Unfortunately, when looking for books to fill our classroom, the market is more skewed toward English books with only a fraction available in Spanish.
Our students are always so excited to read new editions of high-demand books like Captain Underpants, Fly Guy, illustrated nonfiction texts, and chapter books, but their representation in our classroom library is lacking.
Finding these texts in Spanish not only motivates students in their reading but also in their Spanish-Language fluency. Join our classroom in making that difference today!
