Spanish Books For Third-Eighth Beginning And Bilingual ELLs

My Students
Have you ever been asked to read a book in a foreign language even though you had limited proficiency? Maybe you can pretend to read for a day or two, but on the third day, you probably will give up. I don't want this to happen to my English learners who have limited English proficiency!
My English as a New Language (ENL) group consists of students from kindergarten to 8th grade who speak English as a second language.
Every year, there are newcomers, who are fresh off the boat, joining my ENL classroom. Despite their English proficiency, they are always enthusiastic to come to school to learn. Since many of them are literate in their native language and are at grade level in content area subjects, their major obstacle is their language barrier. They want to learn, but the lack of bilingual books or books in foreign languages in my school is hindering them. Because my school has a small ELL (English language learner) population, the selection of books in foreign languages is limited. I always have to advise students to borrow books from the public library.
My Project
Last November, after receiving book donations from another donorschoose project, I started setting up an ENL library with a variety of Spanish books. It has been a whole academic year, and our ENL library desperately needs more new books as each student has read almost 80% of all the books we have. I would like to add new books to our library, so my ELLs can pick books from my ENL library and bring them to their classroom or back home for independent reading. When their ELA teachers teach them literacy skills, they can practice the skills with their Spanish reading materials.
As for my younger readers (k-2nd), I will let their parents borrow books from the ENL library and read to their child at home. I will also provide them with reading guides and questions they can ask to help improve their child's literacy skills.
My English learners should have a sense of accomplishment every day when they come to school.
I do not want them to feel ignored and lose interest in learning due to their language barrier. The ENL library can offer them reading materials they can use when practicing their literacy skills, just like their classmates. Especially for my middle school ELLs, I would like them to maintain their native language while learning English.
