They immediately ran towards it and were so excited! I created a section where students can just grab and go with items they may need without having to feel embarrassed. In the little section, students can grab menstrual pads (the thin ones) as they requested when it's that time of the month. Also, I have deodorant wipes, paper towels, mouth wash, lip care, and floss for after lunch purposes. The students have emphasized that they love that they can easily access whatever item they need and better their hygiene quickly before returning to class. \r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the materials, they were excited. They felt supported and heard especially since they are at school for a long period of time, they did not want their hygiene to be a reason why they have to miss an activity/sport or simply school. The students were very happy to be given things that can use to boost morale. \r\n The students were excited to have something of their own, to carry and to use when necessary, like for physical education class, before school, and afterschool during their sports team functions. They gladly carry their pouches to practices and games.\r\n The next steps to our project is to educate our younger students on what hygiene is and how to prepare for when they start to experience puberty.
