Help me give my students Seat Sacks! (chair pockets) My students sit at tables. They need a place to put their supplies. I prefer tables over desks as it builds classroom community.
Our 1st Grade classroom includes a diverse group of students that come from lots of different backgrounds. I am so excited to be returning to in-person teaching this fall! This last year has been so different from any other year we have experienced. I am ready to see my children faces in-person and work side by side.
I will be teaching reading and writing to some amazing 6 and 7 year old students!
Our school has amazing teachers and support staff that work diligently to provide a diverse and challenging educational experience.
My Project
There are so many reasons why I want my student to work at tables! It fosters collaboration, my classroom has more space, it encourages my children to be more organized and tables are easier to keep clean. The only hard thing with tables is that my students need a place to put their belongings. In enters Seat Sacks.
I have always liked children to have their own supplies, and because of Covid, I feel it is even more important.
This is where Seat Sacks (chair pockets) come in! Children can place all their supplies, such as their tool boxes, folders, books and notebooks in their Seat Sacks. They also helps children to be organized so they can find their things easily.
I have always used chair pockets. Many of the ones I currently have are ripped and torn. They were handmade so now we need more durable chair pockets like Seat Sacks that will last for a long time. I know how exciting it will be for my students as well as myself to have brand new ones that can hold everything they need and they will match too!
