My Project
Sitting in a desk during independent work time often leads having difficulty regulating emotions. Having the ability to understand why one is not getting teacher attention is often a concept students in my classroom struggle with. If they had an alternative seat during this rotation, their ability to comprehend may improve. I am requesting bean bag chairs, stress balls, timer, feeling chart, and other tools to assist in regulating their emotions.
Giving students an area within my classroom to complete independent activities will significantly impact all of my students.
Students in other rotation with a teacher will also get the instruction as it is intended. Fewer classroom disruptions will improve learning for all students.
All of my students struggle with both communication and emotional regulation. My hope is having this independent calming area within classroom will decrease behaviors and improve engagement.
