This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

We are going to become authors and create our own books on the topic of "Space"! We are a project based learning school which means that much of our learning occurs through the use of projects and real life experiences. Students have been learning about space in the second quarter. We are now going to be helping our library by creating books about space that they can use to increase their space book library. Students will get to choose any topic that they want to regarding the topic of "Space". They will then work to research and create a book of their own about space. Some book examples may be an ABC book, a chapter book, a book of poetry, a fictional story about space, and a limitless other number of possibilities. The materials being requested will be used to help organize student materials during the project, to help with transportation of materials to and from school and home, and then to actually create and illustrate their books.
