Space Cadets

Help me give my students a Scholastic science magazine subscription, Pop bottle science and Lego spaceman kits.

My Project

I teach second grade in a Title 1 school. Many of my students come from low income families. Some may have never been outside their neighborhoods. I would like to bring the experience of space to my classroom.

With the materials, my students will learn about space and conduct scientific experiments.

I would like for each student to have their own space magazine. Some of the other materials I would like for my students to experience would help them conduct simple science experiments with the Pop bottle rockets and the Lego space man. Students will have hands on learning with these materials and experiments. Your donations will help bring space to second grade. We would continue our space learning with a field trip to our local Air and Space Museum to give students more hands on learning and connecting what we do in our classroom with the outside world and outside our school.
