This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our students are amazing. Sadly many cannot get motivated in school as the educational process has not transformed to the "TECH SAVY" world they live in. They live on their phones outside of school. Sadly, we do not embrace how to make cellphone an integral part of education.

We are in the South Bronx.

Over 905 of our students are TITLE 1 which they get free lunch. They are mostly latino and African American. We are a very structured school that provides a safe place to our students. Our students often do not have access to things most children there age do.

My Project

We want to use camera adapters to their phones to connect an everyday thing they dearly possess and show them how the phone can truly be a learning tool versus just SOCIAL MEDIA. Apathy is rampant in some students and using this club will allow them to see the power of the phone. They will share and the pictures and videos and connect it to the subjects like math, science and history.

With your donation, we can help embrace the power of the phone and show how it can be used for a great purpose.

It will help students be more engaged. It will help teachers have a platform to connect to students and be roles models.
