This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our students face huge challenges. We are in the poorest congressional district in the USA in the South Bronx. Yet, our students still thrive here! The are predominately from low incomes and most receive help from the government. We are in a high crime area.

Yet our students have grit, they overcome and come ready to learn.

We far exceed the city graduation rate! This is how much passion and desire our students have to be the best they can be.

My Project

We want to show the whole child. While testing is great, it does not show what the child is all about. Nothing gets students more connected than pictures.

We are forming a club to showcase the talents of all our students.

We will have student representatives be in charge and go grade to grade to see great things in actions.

We will film our PSAL sports. We will take photographs are academics and celebrations. We will show the friendships in our pictures and the hurdles we need to overcome. We will show students handling conflict in the right manner and the pride we have.
