This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our students face huge challenges. We are in the poorest congressional district in the USA, in the South Bronx. Yet, our students still thrive here! They are predominately from low-income households and most receive help from the government. We are in a high crime area.

Still, our students are dedicated, show up, and are ready to learn.

We far exceed the city's graduation rate! This is how much grit and desire our students have to be the best they can be.

My Project

My students suffer from trauma and struggle with mental health in there journey. However, they have grit, resilience and determination to make a difference and stop the cycle of pain. They are truly serious and dedicated to be change agents. They understand it starts with true reflection and habits. They are committed to creating videos, power points and social media presentations about there journey from trauma and mental health to show others the path can change. However, they need one dedicated computer to do this! Using the Lenovo tablet students can make this happen. The path starts with themselves and starts with honesty and then education and talking to someone. A purpose that can help others.
