This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Thank you for considering supporting our Music Club at International Community High School. Our goal is to provide students with a space where they can explore music, learn instruments, and collaborate creatively. The club caters to students of all skill levels, from beginners learning chords and scales to those preparing for performances or recordings.

Since its inception, the club has witnessed remarkable progress.

Students, many of whom had never played guitar before, now practice daily. We've covered basics like scales, chords, and tuning, and students are eager to explore songs by various artists. Some have even formed duets and expressed interest in learning keyboards. Our students come from many different countries and have enormous funds of knowledge that they contribute to our musical community. I am especially excited for the students to collaborate with each other as they build skills with multiple instruments. Because each student's perspective is so unique, I believe they can create a rich flavor of music together.

Our current equipment, including acoustic and electric guitars, bass amps, and keyboards, has been invaluable. However, to further facilitate collaborative learning and experimentation, we need additional items such as cables, practice amps, bass guitars, and guitar strings. For example, with the requested practice amps and cables, students can form small groups and explore different musical genres together. Additionally, the bass guitars will allow students to experiment with new sounds and rhythms, while the guitar strings will ensure that our instruments remain in good condition for continued use.

Your support will enable us to continue nurturing students' passion for music and providing them with opportunities for self-expression and growth. By contributing to our project, you're making a meaningful difference in the lives of our students and our school community. Thank you for considering our proposal.
