Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our resource classroom consists of students who are determined to learn and strive for success. They are interested in "typical" teenage interests such as Cobra Kai, basketball, Instagram, Tik-Tok, and Takis. Oh, and we can't forget Korean dramas!

Our students represent different cultures and socioeconomic backgrounds.

As a class, the students face challenges accessing the grade-level curriculum without sufficient supports and resources. These students require differentiated instruction and always put forth their best effort! Whether it's games like Kahoot or our Friday Community Circles, these students are present and deserve the opportunity to be successful.

My Project

In this project, I am seeking technology and organization materials to provide an organized learning space for our students. I have requested a blue tooth speaker to pair with our Promethean Boards. During hybrid learning, I have noticed that while our Zoomers are able to hear the audio of videos, our Roomers seem to be having a difficult time. This will provide optimal sound for all of my students. On top of that, we can have the option to listen to music during our independent work time.

It's all about being organized.

As a Study Skills, I promote organization. I have ordered the bins in order to keep items sanitized and in their appropriate place. The additional charger is so I will never be without juice while teaching hybrid. That Zoom can really take up a battery.

Lastly, I've requested Amazon gift cards. At the end of the quarters, the student with the most Class Dojo points will win a gift card. The resources requested in this project are very special because they will allow us to reward our scholars’ behavior in exciting new ways. With your support, we can provide 4 winners a gift card at the end of each quarter.

The gift cards requested in this project are amazing gifts for our kids because they give students the freedom to choose how they would like to reward themselves. They can choose between necessities for things like school or home, or they can splurge on a nice treat for themselves. Students are given the first gift of recognition followed by something that they can choose that is meaningful to them. It's a win-win!
