The instruments I’m requesting will provide students with hands-on opportunities to explore and express themselves through the world of music. I am a music teacher that travels to all of the classrooms so the instruments I am requesting have to be portable. These instruments will help make our music learning easily accessible to all students and give them a chance to actually play some music.
The goal of this project is to create a more dynamic and inclusive music program that allows every student to participate and experience the joy of making music.
The opportunities that come with playing music in the classroom may in fact create a lifelong love of music and help to develop skills that can enhance their academic performance in areas like math, language, and critical thinking. Ultimately, I aim to cultivate teamwork, creativity, and self-confidence in my students, which will positively impact their overall growth as individuals.
My students are incredibly diverse, coming from a range of backgrounds and abilities. They are passionate, curious, and full of potential. Despite facing challenges, they show a remarkable willingness to learn and grow. Many of my students may not have the opportunity to experience music-making outside of our music classes so I intend to give them as much hands-on music-making as I am able.
