My students need audio books to supplement the print books in our school and classroom libraries.

My Students
The library is the center and hub of the school. Every grade level comes to the library and utilizes our resources; we host reluctant readers and avid readers alike.
Our school is situated in a bustling suburb; we are over capacity and under-resourced, so our students need more resources to help them reach their full potentials.
Our students are around 30% economically disadvantaged and are considered "in the middle," so we often get overlooked when it comes to funding. These students come from hard-working middle class families with strong work ethics and it shows in their desire to ask me, their librarian, for resources when they cannot find them in the library.
My Project
Our library has absolutely zero audio books. I often have students requesting audio books to supplement the print book they have checked out; the audio book will aid them in comprehending the text and all its subtleties. Further, the audio books will make an enormous impact on our dyslexia classes, whose students need that audio-visual connection to comprehend and make gains in their reading capabilities. Teachers can further use the audio books as a classroom tool for classroom read-alouds.
Audio books will make a lasting, enormous difference on our campus.
Teachers and students alike will appreciate the audio-visual connection that audio books bring to the reading experience. Students not only gain a fuller comprehension of the text but a lifelong love of reading.
More than half of students from low‑income households
