My Project
I work in a District school in Astoria that serves students with autism. Our students are vibrant, creative, and thrive in environments where they feel seen, heard, and included. Music and sound play a powerful role in their learning and social-emotional development, especially during school-wide events that bring joy and connection.
We’re requesting a high-quality portable speaker and wireless microphones to help bring our school events to life.
Whether it’s a holiday dance party, our 5th-grade graduation, or a family craft day, sound and music help set the tone, spark engagement, and create shared moments of happiness.
These tools will allow our students to sing, speak, and celebrate with their peers and families. For many of our students, hearing their favorite song or speaking into a microphone can be a confidence-boosting and sensory-rich experience that encourages participation and joy.
Having the right equipment means our students will be able to fully enjoy these special moments. It ensures that every announcement, performance, and song is heard clearly—whether in our gym, cafeteria, or outdoor yard. More importantly, it creates an inclusive space where every student can feel like they are part of something bigger.
