This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Most students at our school come from middle to lower income families without much extra income for extracurricular activities and supplies.

The high school has become the epicenter and supplier of all community activities and events.

As such, the students spend most of their time at the school participating in whatever programs can be supported with the small budget we do have. Our drama program has become a home and a "happy place" to many of our students. The passion and drive shown by our drama students has made our Theatre Program thrive, despite our lack of funding.

My Project

The sound system in our Drama Room/Theatre has been out of commission for the past 6 years. Whenever we turn it on, the static we hear outweighs the sound we are trying to play. This doesn't work well when we need music or sound effects in our performances.

For the past 3 years we have been using the Bluetooth sound bar from one of our students' homes.

We are no longer able to use his soundbar, and need to find a new alternative to help us get the sound we need to continue putting on our productions and being able to have a sound system in our Drama Room!
