Sound and Comfort

My Students

Start and end your workday with the most honest audience you will ever face. This is one of the wonderful aspects of teaching 1st and 2nd grade. My students attend a small country school that still has a bell tower out front. Although they live in a rural town at the base of the Green Mountains, they still deal with the ever-growing, changing, and fast-paced world that every child finds themselves in these days. They are caring kids with their entire academic careers ahead of them.

My Project

These two items will be used for a variety of reasons. Every class has a few students who need help blocking out sounds. Today's world has students accessing their learning and listening to books via technology.

Nothing helps a kid focus more than a set of headphones that can block out the outer world and let them hear audio books and other learning like a good set of headphones.

The chair is for the students and myself. It will be used as the "author's throne" when kids read their writing to the class. It will also allow this 50 year old teacher to have an adult size chair to sit in now and then. As much as I love 1st grade, the stools are quite short.
