it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Providing my 1st graders with tools to manage their emotions helps create a calm, supportive classroom.
Items like textiles, playdoh, timers, message boards, and cozy corners give students safe, age-appropriate ways to recognize and regulate their emotions.
These tools encourage children to take a pause, reflect, and make better choices, which leads to fewer disruptions and stronger peer relationships. When students feel emotionally supported, they are more focused, confident, and ready to learn. Teaching emotional regulation early builds a foundation for lifelong social-emotional skills and a more inclusive classroom community.
