I teach English Language Arts to a group of diverse 6th grade middle school students in a large NYC public school. My four classes are full of hardworking students who are eager to improve their reading, writing, listening and speaking skills every day in our classroom.
I am requesting 2 wooden storage cubbies that will allow us to better organize large class sets of textbooks that are used in the classroom.
Having a designated space to store these books in the classroom will help each class keep track of their materials. This will make it quicker and easier to pass out and collect books at the beginning and end of the class periods, gaining valuable class time for more classwork, discussion and learning. I have also requested 8 tabletop easel pads that students can use to create and share group work with one another in class when we work on collaborative activities.
