This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Most of my students come from a low socio economic background. Many of them are English learners. All of them love coming to school. My students love getting their hands on anything and everything! They want to be a part of it all and they learn a lot in this way too.
For this reason, I think the discovery sensory bin and tactile letters will be am amazing asset to our classroom and my students' learning.
The discovery sensory bin is more round in shape and more shallow than other bins in my room and I feel that this will accommodate more students at once. I also think the tactile letters will help my students with writing the letters. They will be able to get a feel of the letter and how it looks and that will transfer over to writing.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
