Sonic Sound of West Town: Soundproofing and Storage
Help me give my students soundproofing panels to upgrade the band room so they can hear their high-quality sound, storage bins to organize, and a wagon for band camp to move between school and the fields.
Our students are working hard to build up their Marching Band. The past year alone has seen our band and auxiliary members earn over $500,000 in scholarships! They are working their hardest and we want to support them by upgrading and organizing the band room. Soundproofing panels are not just to prevent the noise from carrying outside the band room, but to limit echoes and reverberations inside of the room too. Students can hear what they are playing and distinguish it from their neighbors much more easily. Storage bins are needed to organize our band's uniform pants and, fingers crossed, next year our marching jackets too. Currently, students are keeping them in their lockers or the laundry pile. Not the best options for preventing loss. A metal wagon is needed for outdoor practices to move water, speakers, and field markers to our local field to practice marching because we do not have a football field on campus. It is a 5-minute walk that can be made easier if we aren't dragging 50 pounds of equipment with us twice a day during marching season.
Our students strive every day to improve themselves and earn scholarships for their hard work.
This year we are taking our award-winning band to the Chicago Football Classic and have been invited to the 2 largest events for the Noble network schools this coming year. We want to provide the most opportune environment for them to keep working toward their dreams.
