My Students
Students at our high school are diverse, strong, wise beyond their years, and full of grit! Help me get my students back on track by inspiring a love for literature with modern, interesting young adult titles. These students have been staring at screens for an entire year, now I'd like to have them staring at pages of beautifully written literature.
I have no doubt that my students will rise to the occasion and give it their all!
My Project
This year students do not have access to water fountains at my urban high school. My eleventh grade students often arrive to class thirsty. They eat breakfast at 7:30 am and many do not have lunch until seventh period which takes place at 12:22. Students this age are essentially adults, they should have access to something cold to drink when they need it. Many of my students will complain of headaches during the day, a lack of hydration can contribute to this.
Being able to have a refrigerator in my room stocked with water, gatorade, and other sugar free drinks available for the students during class time with improve their health and well being.
Essentials and necessities such as cold drinks and snacks need to be available for students so their focus can be on learning, not how thirsty or hungry they are. With your help, my students basic needs can be met which will allow for their attention and focus to be on getting an education.
