Help me give my students multiple fun activities during choice time to help them enjoy their learning experiences at school.

My Students

Doing the winter months my students have indoor recess in the classroom. We are also an extended day school so they are in class until 4:15. Doing recess, they enjoy playing on the carpet, they interact with each other and share. Some of my students do not engage because we have a limited selection of activities. I want them to be able to work with a friend to help build social skills and help with social emotional development. My students enjoy their learning environment, but they need choice time. They are really good at choosing different activities when given a choice during math and reading, but they need more choices during recess and at the end of the day, "Choice Time."

My Project

Choice time will allow my students to choose an activity that they are interested in. I choose items that will help stimulate their thinking.

These items will help my students build on social and emotional skills.

It will give them the chance to work with peers, make choices, or work independently. Because of Covid, they have missed out on those preschool years that would have allowed them the chance to build on social skills. I can not give them those years back, but I can help them to grow and build on needed skills.
