This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come from various backgrounds and are from low income families. My students all have various levels of proficiency in math. The majority of my students are multi-sensory learners. They learn best when material is presented in different formats and easily accessible.
My students need calculators to help them solve problems that require them to use exponents and multi-step equations.
The calculators will ease their anxiety about solving problems that require multi-digit multiplication. They lack fact fluency skills and the calculators will help them focus on the steps that they need to solve equations and not on the skills they are deficient.
My Project
My students are diverse learners that require aids when completing multi-step equations. It is important that the students have the tools so that they may be successful in the classroom. Along with the tools that they already have in the classroom, they need more tools that will help them succeed.
The calculators will help them now that they are working with exponents, expressions, equations, and inequalities.
The calculator storage pocket chart will help them organize and easily locate the calculators when they need to use them. The calculators will help them focus on the steps to solve the problems and not on their deficient skills.
