This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

In our school, students do not have personal computers and save their work on a flash drive. Now, if they started their work in the computer Mac lab, they can't open their document on one of our in-class PCs. And vice-versa. All year, students wasted so much time trying to find the right computer!

Unfortunately, my school operates with minimum funding and most of our parents can't afford donations.

African American students usually make up 70% of my class; the rest includes a rich diversity of cultures such as Latino and Asian. Since we are a Social Justice Magnet School, our students are aware of the issues awaiting them and they work hard to become agents of change! We just need help to improve their education.

My Project

We need Microsoft Office to install on all our in-class computers so students would be able to work immediately from any station and print whenever they need to. In my class, students regularly need to type letters or pieces they wrote, create slide-shows for presentations or graphs to present data. With your donation, all machines would be aligned and all documents would open anywhere! We wouldn't have to copy, save and transfer to another computer to copy and paste again using the program we originally wanted... A real nightmare! Students would finally be able to work in an efficient environment, finish their work on time, and move forward in their education.

Your donation of Microsoft Office would definitely make a great difference in the class!
