My Project

If you were to walk into our Gifted and Talented classroom, you would become immersed in the various activities, critical thinking moments and experiments these students are fortunate to acquire. These activities are just a small glimpse into one week in our classroom. Our Gifted and Talented classes, which meet weekly in two-hour blocks, are bustling with excitement and new-found knowledge.

Everyday in our class is a high energy experience in which even an adult would come out of there saying, "Wow!

That was fun!" This "fun" component is the goal of my teaching style, and always has been. Therefore, I am always striving to find a way to make our units and lessons into fun and engaging experiences.

4th graders in our Gifted and Talented classes are exploring the various aspects of energy. What better way to experience solar energy than by building a solar car? As a teacher, I want to keep students interested in energy without grabbing glue guns or soldering irons. What better way for my students to learn than from the solar car kit? Students will build and explore how solar cars work outdoors in full sunlight or indoors under a bright, incandescent light.
