My Project
I teach in the Worcester Public School district in Worcester, MA. On April 8th, there is a solar eclipse and in Worcester, we should be able to view 95% of totality. Our state standards have eclipses being taught during the middle school grades. We can always watch videos and see pictures of eclipses but it is rare to be able to actually see a solar eclipse. Incidentally, the next solar eclipse for our area isn't for another 20 years. So, what better way for my students to learn about solar eclipses than to actually see one in person as it is happening live! Since I am not given any type of funds to purchase equipment, I am hoping that through this project I can provide each one of my students with their own pair of eclipse glasses. There's no better teacher than being able to watch Science Live!
