This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Incorporating iPads into our students' curriculum will allow them to develop their independence and computer skills. Especially, since most of students are non-verbal, this gives them a way to express themselves. Currently, in the classroom, we are practicing reading, writing, and math skills in both languages. Implementing iPads will be beneficial towards practicing typing and research skills through online programs and applications. These devices allow for a creative way to learn academic skills in a more accessible and exciting way!
My Project
Our students need software with activities that will focus on the alphabet, letter recognition, and writing, as well as math manipulatives to explore with at Learning Center time. Our students will use these materials to explore their ability through building, drawing, counting, making letters and sounds, and then words!
These activities will be used during Learning Center times throughout the day as we read and write while learning together.
They will be able to use these manipulatives during our whole group and small group time, learning letters and sounds as they make words, numbers, and sets as we explore counting skills. Your generous donation to our project will improve our classroom by building a stronger reader and writer. This will change our students' lives for the better. They will love school and feel success at an early age --- having fun while learning!
