This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I coach for a middle school softball team. These girls have practiced in the rain, wind and freezing temperatures. Please help support their love of the game. It is a low-income area where sports are not a priority for most families.

Many of my students come from families where both parents work to pay the bills and there is not a lot of extra money for sports.

Sports are sometimes overlooked with female students and I am dedicated to ensuring they have every opportunity to become great athletes.

My Project

The sport is not on top priority for funding from the athletic department so we are trying to build a program for the girls. My girls have never played softball prior to our middle school team being built. We do not have a lot of equipment other than softballs and bases. The field the girls practice on is in terrible condition. Your donation will go towards building a hitting area for the girls. Currently, the location is a deep wooded area and we lose many softballs to this. Please help us create a safe place for our girls to learn to play the game I once fell in love with. Their dedication is inspiring and I know they simply need the tools for the team to become a success.
