Softball! One of the best games ever! My students absolutely love playing softball for PE, but we have no mitts, so it is difficult for them to catch and field the ball as effectively as they could.
I teach sixth grade in a small, Title I rural school in Utah.
My students have really enjoyed learning new games and sports this year in PE. They are developing both athletic and sportsmanship skills and having a blast! They have really loved playing together and I have seen friendships blossom that would not have otherwise formed.
My Project
I am requesting 10 softball mitts, 8 for right handed throwers and 2 for left-handed throwers. I am also requesting a set of foam-covered softballs. With this equipment, my students will be able to practice throwing and catching, as well as play softball games. Softball is an amazing way for students to become more physically active while learning skills, practicing sportsmanship, and just having a great time!
If you donate to our project, you will be helping students develop skills in a game they can play throughout their lives.
You will be helping my PE students have a wonderful time learning and playing together!
