My students love to learn and love to be challenged. I teach at a public high school where the teachers are very caring and the students take pride in their school. Our students are hard-working and come from very diverse backgrounds. We have a mix of socioeconomic backgrounds and cultures, but that is what makes our school strong. Our differences help unite us.
Students learn that through hard work and perseverance they can accomplish anything.
A very important word our students learn is "yet." "I don't know how to do this yet" or "I don't understand this yet." Our school culture fosters growth and improvement and helps everyone understand that they help determine their own futures. Our students are eager to learn more, even if it means extending their learning opportunities outside of class time.
My Project
Two years ago, our team suffered the most devastating loss imaginable. Our senior second basemen who was the heart, soul, and energy of our team was killed in a car crash after practice during the second week of our season. Our team was crushed beyond words. But somehow, we found a way to persevere and play each game for Livi.
Peak Performance Coach Ethan Miller provided support for our team to help us regroup and refocus mentally as we were grieving the loss of our beloved Livi.
Last year, as we were still mourning and hurting, Ethan's program allowed our team to move toward healing our minds and hearts. Having Ethan guide us through his conditioning program (with mental and physical challenges), we will be able to compete on the field and have a competitive edge. Ethan is a valuable and essential resource to help us get refocused and learn many of the mental tools to help us cope with softball and with life.
