This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach 2nd grade in an urban community outside of Boston. My students come to school everyday eager to learn, grow and succeed.
The majority of my students come from low-income households and have faced many challenges at such a young age.
Beginning this school year, I would love to implement "soft start" activities in the morning. Students can grab a bin of manipulatives and enter the classroom with a headspace ready to learn and succeed.
From your generosity, my students will also be able to use hands-on math manipulatives during math lessons such as telling time and counting money.
