Soft Start STEM Manipulatives

Help me give my students manipulatives that serve a dual purpose: not only will they serve as a STEM option during math centers, they will also provide my students the opportunity to have a soft start.

My Project

These manipulatives will serve a dual purpose in my classroom. Not only will they serve as STEM bins for my math centers, but they also provide the opportunity for soft starts this year. Soft starts are one way to create a positive classroom community in which students are given time to mentally prepare and ease into their day. Soft starts provide students with a sense of autonomy, which in turn empowers them to take ownership of their learning.

The use of these manipulatives will give students more opportunities to collaborate, think critically, and be creative.
