Often times mornings can be very rushed and chaotic for all. By the time students enter the classroom they may be upset, unfocused, overwhelmed and not ready to give their best.
My goal for my students is to begin each morning with a "soft start," providing a calming environment that shifts their focus and allows them to use their creativity.
By using these manipulatives, students can take time to focus on a low-stress task while having conversations and collaborating with their peers. My hope for this project is that when the bell rings students will be focused and ready to take on the day.
We will use these materials each morning in different ways and rotations to get our day started on the right foot.
