My Students

My school is located in a high poverty area. For the fourth year in a row, breakfast and lunch are available to all students at no charge.

My students teach me new things every day, and I can only hope they learn something from me.

This is my fourth year to teach fourth grade, and my hope is to instill a love of learning in my students.

I team teach. Between the two classes, I have forty-five students in my classroom throughout the school day. I have discovered that each student is special in their own way.

My Project

As an educator, I know the fluorescent lighting in the classroom can be harsh on your eyes. This year I am wanting to create softer lighting in the classroom. I am asking for light filters to help tone down the harshness of the fluorescent lights.

By toning down the brightness I am hoping to create a space to fall in love with the school.

Sometimes the regular classroom chairs can be a little uncomfortable. By helping to fund this project, you will allow more students the option for flexible seating. Flexible seating will allow students the opportunity to wiggle without disrupting the entire class.
