This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students love to read, but our classroom doesn’t yet have a cozy space where they can truly relax and get lost in a good book. Help me give my students a warm and inviting reading corner with two bean bag chairs, a soft shag carpet, and a mesh canopy that transforms an ordinary corner into a book lover’s dream. This cozy space will encourage students to see reading not just as an assignment, but as a comforting and enjoyable experience.

A dedicated reading corner will give students a calm, welcoming place to focus and recharge.

Many of my students benefit from having a quiet spot away from the bustle of the classroom—a space where they can curl up with a book, reflect, or read with a partner. The bean bag chairs will provide flexible, comfortable seating, the shag carpet will add warmth and texture, and the canopy will make the space feel special and inviting.

By creating this cozy reading corner, I hope to foster a lifelong love of reading and give my students a sense of ownership over their learning environment. A comfortable and inspiring space can make all the difference—turning reading time into a moment of joy, curiosity, and connection. Your support will help make reading a magical experience for every student who walks through our classroom door.
