This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My mission for my classroom and school community is that everyone feels seen and heard. I want to ensure that everyone feels represented. I want to make sure that we are educating the students on what it truly means to be inclusive.

During our social emotional learning lesson time we have meaningful discussions about equity and diversity.

I want to have a week for our Down Syndrome students. I want the community to embrace and celebrate all the beautiful differences that our housed within our school. Part of that celebration is honoring and showing our support in small ways like wearing Down Syndrome socks, stickers, bracelets and other wearable signs that show that we are all united.

Thank you so much for helping our school community grow more united with these visible signs of support for our Down Syndrome students.
