This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Winter has been brutal for some of my students that walk to school daily. Some students also get dropped off by their parents way before the school doors open because their parents need to get to work. The children are standing out in the cold sometimes with inadequate winter clothes. Sometimes they are wearing just a hoodie because they cannot afford an adequate winter coat. I often see children with no hats, scarves, or mittens. When they come into the building, their lips are chapped and their skin looks really dry. I want to ensure that my students stay warm and that their skin is properly hydrated especially with these changing conditions so I am requesting extra socks, chapstick, and lotion.
