My students need a Hands-on Equations Classroom Set, with a book of Pre-Algebra activities and a demonstration video.

I teach math to approximately 100 students each school year. These students include those with special needs, are ESL, and/or Bilingual students. Our school has gone from a wealthy school to a Title 1 Campus with a low SES of 50%. The standard of teaching has not changed. The staff is a seasoned one with me being here for 23 years out of a 26 year teaching career. All my students pass Math TAKS to continue to sixth grade.

This is the students first real exposure to algebraic concepts and I believe that involving students with hands-on equations will "hook" them on algebra and lead them to all believe they can be successful. This is a critical age group to get "into" math ... wouldn't it be great to have a way to model equations?

I would like to have a Hands-On Solving Equations Set of 30, a pre-algebra joke solving book, and an instructional video to ensure that I get the most out of my instruction time.

Our students come to school without the necessary background knowledge to solve problems. Some have no accountable parent at home and require after school tutorials. Our staff mentors students and provides a safe-secure learning environment with academic achievement being the first priority. You will touch many lives and help break the cycle of poverty by helping to lay a strong foundation in mathematics which is a constant in our world. Think of how many ways you've used math today :)
