This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students have very big hearts and truly make do with what they have. For some, school is their safe haven from extremely poverty-stricken and violent homes. My students are in a very low-income community. They are kind and loving but may not get all the things they need. I have really gotten to know these students in our building and their families very well. I have already learned that I have children who come from needy families. Some of my children come from split families where they may or may not see one or both parents. I am very lucky to be able to touch these kiddos' lives. They are very creative and love to be able to explore their learning world through my classroom.

Each child in the class has his or her own unique personality that has really brought our community together.

They are very creative and are starting to really enjoy the academic world and are improving every day.

My Project

In the start of this new year we all have to think about how to be flexible with our teaching. I am requesting these items so that if we need to go remote for any reason the students have access to bring these items home and are able to learn.

This project is carefully thought out so that each item can be used in any type of teaching whether it is remote or live.

I am creating care packages for each student to keep in a backpack or bag so that they can travel with items back and forth from school. If they decide to have us go fully remote the students will have those items that will help them with their learning. The head buds are so student can hear the instruction and cut the sounds around them out a bit. They are also helping with social distancing because students won't have to share this type of item. Pencils and erasers will also be put in the care package already sharpened so that they have a tool to do the work. The paper will also be placed in their bag just in case so that they have something to write on. The astrobright paper is being purchased for centers because each child will need to have access to their own center materials instead of sharing. There needs to be more supplies to be able to do this. We deeply appreciate any donation to this project to help our students succeed.
