My Project

Hello! My name is Charlie Oliveira; I recently became licensed as a LMSW School Social Worker at Dilworth Middle School. I have been slowly but surely making my office space more exciting, peaceful, and productive for the students. The social work and school social work textbooks will help me provide appropriate mental health interventions for every student need I come across. I will also utilize them to plan group interventions for social emotional learning opportunities. The fidget toys will help create a more calming and fun atmosphere to regulate emotions. The kids love coming to my office to talk difficult things out and fidget, it gives them something to look forward to and makes it easier to express emotions. I also would utilize the lights and decorations for my office to make my space more inviting and comfortable. The mental health decorations would help me further educate students on mental health and coping skills for crises and difficult moments. My students are special because they are silly, unique, and smart. I also love that many of them are so open to discussing mental health and they love to joke around with staff. I am the first school social worker at this school, so I want the students to feel welcomed into my space!
