Hi! I am a Social Studies teacher in an urban school district with out-dated materials. I teach Freshmen Ethics and World History as well as Sophomore United States History. I work with students of all skill levels from poor readers/writers to the gifted and talented to make up my honors class.
I work in a department that truly cares about students. Unfortunately, we just do not have access to the materials that would help enhance our student's learning. This is my second year at this school and I have seen student's interest sparked in my classroom yet have been limited in my ability to foster that spark into an intellectual fire.
The books that I have requested are filled with supplementary materials such as primary source documents and activities for student learning. These books provide a wealth of information, varied instructional strategies, and hands-on reinforcement for my students.
