This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our second grade students love hands-on projects and activities! Projects help ground the material we are teaching and make learning fun for our kiddos. During our New York (then and now) Social Studies Unit, we study various ways that people made clothing. At the end of our unit, we will learn how to weave. Students will each weave their own mini quilt square. During our Bird Study Unit, students will research a specific bird and write a detail book about that bird. These materials will support them in completing this final project.
