This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is in the Brighton Park neighborhood in Chicago. Most of our students live in a bilingual household and have limited resources. Despite economic limitations, our students are curious, engaged, and ready to learn. They have always been flexible in sharing technology when meeting for social work sessions. As we prepare to return back to school, they would greatly benefit from having an individual tablet to work on. They love to learn through technology and have embraced the changes remote learning has brought.

My Project

When watching videos or playing social skills games in sessions with me for social work sessions, my students will usually huddle around my one tablet. These two additional tablets will allow students to socially distance and still be able to benefit from the materials being presented in our small sessions.

We have many games, videos, and websites that we visit to learn how to get along with others, become more socially aware and improve on behavior both in school as well as at home.

These tablets will help our students continue to grow socially and emotionally!
