My Project

Learning positive ways to interact with peers and adults is a skill I work on with my students. Many times my students lack the ability to communicate and solve problems appropriately. This means we must continuously work on those skills in order for them to be successful.

I often use games and activities to create social situations that are organic but often challenging for my students.

We work to engage in appropriate interactions and reactions to frustrations that are natural in any given game as well as how to start and maintain conversation to show interest and care for each other. We work to have positive commentary and supportive feedback while I coach my students throughout the process. I see a lot of growth from these structured activities that translate to success in their general education classrooms and during real life interactions.
