Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We're a Title I school in El Paso, Texas with high rates of mobility and poverty. I am a Social Skills Teacher that is in charge of magnificent students who need a little extra help with social skills.
My students are coded AU, which is short for "AU-some!"
They have difficulty with face to face social interactions and with paper/pencil work too; but are great with social skills videos and computer work. So I use that to let them shine!
My Project
My students need to improve their social skills and the best way is to see the targeted behavior modeled for them. Everyday Speech has incredible social skills videos that have made it easier for students to learn these skills. I am requesting a subscription to Everyday Speech.
Practicing is not enough, students also need prizes as positive reinforcement to maintain gains.
Students will enjoy seeing the modeled skills and learn from the videos and games.
The social skills games will be used to let them have fun while learning social skills and then get rewarded with fun prizes such as bracelets, putty, and squishy toys. With the Everyday Speech Complete Guided Therapy videos, games, and prizes, my students will be set up on a path that will lead them towards super social skill success!
