Social Skills in Kindergarten

Help me give my students materials to make books for social stories that will help them understand meaningful social contexts.

My Project

The key is using these materials to create engaging, hands-on learning experiences that allow students to practice social skills in a structured, in a supportive way. Social stories can be powerful tools for teaching things like emotional regulation and appropriate social behaviors.

Laminating sheets can be very useful for creating durable, reusable social stories that students can interact with.

Velcro can allow me to make interactive elements on the stories, like characters or visual cues, that students can manipulate. And a binder maker could help compile personalized social story booklets for individual students. It can also be used to make independent work tasks that students can practice their literacy and math skills.

The sensory items like wobble seats and weighted blankets will benefit students who struggle with sitting still and maintaining focus. These items can subtly improve sensory regulation and even core strength that can better their learning and creating an inclusive environment.
