Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The donation given within this Donor Choose project will be used to support students who may be having difficulties building and maintaining positive social interactions/relationships within their school environment. We believe that these items will provide the sufficient incentive and classroom support to help motivate students and create collaborative relationships between SIP students, educators, and families.

Our program's overall goal is to create a learning environment that help's our students learn life skills such as self-awareness, responsible decision making, and self-management.

By helping students receive incentives (such as snacks, small prizes, etc.) and/or being in comfortable classrooms (classroom with calming lighting, beans bags/comfortable seating arrangements, opportunities to use therapeutic tools like Zen gardens) to help them regulate their emotions, we hope to connect and establish healthy rapport with them to help them find success both in their academics and personal/social life.
